PROFILE
Ahmed Started his career in 2010 at the electrical engineering firm ABB S.A.E.. Between 2010 and 2015, Ahmed worked at ABB as a Design Engineer for Low Voltage Systems and then a Field Engineer for Medium Voltage Systems, then he expanded his portfolio by working in the field of solar photovoltaic power systems. Throughout his career he has provided various services in plants from different sectors and acquired extensive certified trainings in different electrical engineering disciplines. He completed a training course on Solar Photovoltaic Systems from SUNTECH in Wuxi, China, he completed another training on medium-voltage systems with advanced modules on digital substation intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) & Numerical Relays from ABB Oy, Vaasa in Finland and he completed an expert level training on the solar central inverters PVS980 from ABB Helsinki in Finland.
Ahmed attended advanced technical courses in different countries, participated in international research projects and events in prestigious institutes around Europe such as the Max-Plank institute for solid-state physics in Germany, the Institute of Interfacial Process Engineering and Plasma Technology (IGVP) [Institut für Grenzflächenverfahrenstechnik und Plasmatechnologie] in Germany, the Institute for Plasma Physics in Prague (IPP), the French Commission of Atomic and Alternative Energies (CEA), Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) and the Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology Research (CIEMAT) in Spain where he defended his masters thesis.
Ahmed was awarded a bachelor in Electrical Power & Machines from Helwan University in Cairo in 2009, he has been awarded a Diploma in Nuclear Reactor Physics from the faculty of Science at Cairo University, then a Masters degree in Nuclear Fusion & Engineering Physics from Ghent University in Belgium in 2017, he has been awarded the title “Burgerlijk Ingenieur” by the consortium of five European universities including the University of Ghent in Belgium, University of Stuttgart in Germany, University of Nancy in France, University of Carlos III and the Complutense University of Madrid. . Ahmed was the co-founder and Chief Engineer of Energy Technik L.L.C, which was acquired by Empower Energy Systems (EES) S.A.E.
AWARDS
In 2017, Ahmed Handoussa was awarded the title "Burgerlijk ingenieur" or "Master of Science in Engineering". In 2018, Ahmed was awarded the second place in the pitching competition that took place in 2018 Marburg, Frankfurt. The competition was the final place in the enterpreunership program IMAGINE.
